Murrough O’Brien

Murrough O’Brien has lived in South Woodham Ferrers since 1981.
During this time, he has worked is most of the bars and venues at the same time as being a regular commuter to London.
He is passionate about making South Woodham Ferrers a better place to live and work in and takes pride in doing the details and presenting clear cases for all local issues he is asked about.
Murrough believes in open and comprehensive communication, giving people the facts, so they understand the problems and feel part of the solutions.
He understands the problem with our transport services, or mental health services and the general requirements of delivering community-enriching services to residents.
Local issues can get emotive and to present clear cases for improvement, sometime the emotion, but not the passion, has to be removed.
Murrough currently serves on SWF Town Council and has served both as the Town’s Mayor and Deputy Mayor.
Murrough was elected to represent the residents of Elmwood & Woodville Ward at Chelmsford City Council in the May 2023 Local Elections.
