Conservative Councillor for South Woodham Ferrers – Chetwood & Collingwood Ward

Ashley John

shley and his family have lived in South Woodham Ferrers in the Chetwood & Collingwood Ward for 23 years. Community minded, he served with the Metropolitan Police in the 1980’s.

As an advanced motorcycle instructor, Ashley supports the Essex Motorcycle Safety Forum, Essex Air Ambulance and Essex Police on road safety initiatives, he is also founder and former Chairman of the Essex Advanced Motorcyclists Group of the Royal Society for the Prevention of Accidents.

Keen to improve our community wellbeing he has served as a South Woodham Ferrers Town Councillor since 2006, supporting and leading on local initiatives including the Emergency Evacuation Centre, Neighbourhood Policing Panels, Youth Initiatives and as Vice Chairman of the Environment & Planning Committee.

He was a member of the Essex Association of Local Councils, a Trustee with a number of Essex Trusts, Voluntary & Faith groups, is a member of the Parochial Church Council and a Trustee and former Chairman of the Chelmsford Citizens Advice Bureau (CAB).
