Conservative Councillor for South Woodham Ferrers – Elmwood & Woodville

Bob-Denston

I have lived in Elmwood & Woodville Ward  since 1979.  During this time I have had the privilege to represent the residents for both Chetwood & Collingwood and Elmwood & Woodville Wards as well as having the honour of being Deputy Mayor of Chelmsford in 2010. I worked for Lloyds Bank for 21years in I.T. before spending the next 15 years in Financial Services  before retiring following a serious motorbike accident.

From 2003 I have been on the Licensing & Regulatory Committee and since retiring I have also gone on the Planning Committee. This is probably the most time consuming of the City Councils Committees and influences what happens both locally and in the wider community.

Collectively, your City Councillors work together to resist unwanted changes to our life in South Woodham Ferrers – building on Radar Hill  proposed by the Liberal Democrats being the most significant to spring to mind.

Working as a team, your Conservative City Councillors were directly responsible for getting the ‘Spectacular’ in SWF for the last 2 years.

An Annual event will be scheduled in the future and I hope residents will put forward there own ideas.

We are also looking at a New event in SWF similar to Chelmsford’s ‘3 foot people’ Festival, if it proves feasible.

Your City Councillors have been effective in getting an Information Centre in the Town, which saves residents the necessity to having to go into Chelmsford.  In addition, we are able to give further assistance to any resident who still have unresolved issues which come within our remit or put them in touch with the appropriate parties.

If you want to speak to a City Councillor in person we are present when our MP John Whittingdale has his surgeries in Club Woodham or via e-mail.

Your City Councillors are directly responsible for arranging the funding necessary to enable the successful to the Premier League & The FA Facilities Fund for a full refurbishment of the sand-based artificial pitch to form a brand new, floodlit third generation (3G) artificial grass pitch (AGP) at the South Woodham Ferrers Leisure Centre.

In addition, we are able to give assistance to any resident with their own individual problems & concerns.
