Roy Whitehead

Roy has lived in Ramsden Heath for over 40 years. Sadly his wife Jacquie died in 2022.

Their son David attended Downham School & KEGS and now lives in Chelmsford’s twin town of Backnang.

First elected to Chelmsford Council in 1999, Roy served as Leader of the City Council for 16 years until 2019 and,in that time, he oversaw the transformation of the city centre and the development of the rural areas of the Borough.

His particular speciality is property and finance.

He has been a Parish Councillor for South Hanningfield for many years and also attends Parish Council meetings at Stock and Margaretting when time permits, working in partnership with his fellow Chelmsford City ward Councillor Ian Grundy.
