Conservative Councillor for Patching Hall Ward
I was born and raised in Chelmsford and, with the exception of two short spells for college and work, I have lived here for my entire life. The vast majority of this time has been spent in Patching Hall or a neighbouring ward. This gives me a great understanding of the issues that affect us in our ward.
I have over 30 years of service to the people of Essex as a Police Officer. Retiring in the rank of Sergeant, I served the majority of my career as a front line officer. This included working as a patrol officer in Chelmsford and a community Sergeant in Neighbourhood Policing, helping to resolve local problems and liaising closely with the community and a network of community leaders. I also spent time working on a multi-million pound project to provide a new communications system to Essex Police giving me a great insight into the importance of responsible budgeting when dealing with public money.
I am a strong believer in family values. I have been married for 36 years and have three adult children and three grandchildren. I served several years on the Parents Association of St Pius School and volunteered as a parent helper on numerous school visits and events
In my spare time I enjoy writing and presenting quizzes for charity
