Conservative Councillor for Moulsham & Central Ward
I am Victoria Irwin and have lived in Chelmsford for 9 years, prior to that I grew up in Woodham Mortimer while attending secondary school in Chelmsford, so I have had close ties with the area for 18 years.
I have been involved with the Conservative Party for a number of years now and currently act as Chairman for the Conservative Futures. Areas I am keen to focus on are the High Street, making sure we have a clean, safe High Street for shoppers and people going out at night. Another interest of mine, as a commuter, is the train station and making it more suitable for the huge volumes of commuters it receives as well as focusing on the service itself.
Another area I am committed to is ensuring we have a sustainable environment for future generations, our recycling schemes are good but they could be improved and that is something I would like to look into.
Finally I would like to see an increased and better community spirit in Chelmsford. I would like to see more events in each Ward being organised and attended by local people and a return to the days of butchers and bakers where possible, increasing the Farmer’s Markets and use of organic and local produce.
