The Marconi ward is in the centre of the Borough. It stretches from the railway just north of the police station up to Melbourne Avenue and includes the University, Rainsford Road and the Boarded Barns area.
It has a population of around 8,800 (as at the 2021 Census) and 5,571 electors (as at August 2023).
Residents are represented by two councillors.
The Member of Parliament is Vicky Ford MP.
