Christopher Kingsley has lived in Danbury for many years and has served the community in a variety of ways. He is Director of Music at Danbury Parish Church and a Governor of Danbury St John’s Church of England Primary School.  As Director of the Lingwood Consort he has organised concerts in aid of the Cirdan Sailing Trust, a Maldon-based organisation working largely with disadvantaged young people.  He is President of the Chelmsford Competitive Festival of Music and Drama and a trustee of the Armstrong Gibbs Society, an organisation that seeks to promote the music of the former Danbury composer,

Christopher has been a member of the Chelmsford Borough Council for nearly forty years and is presently the Cabinet Member for Parks and Heritage.  He has responsibilities for all the Borough’s Parks and Green Spaces including the Hylands Estate, together with the Museums at Oaklands Park and Sandford Mill.
