Conservative Councillor for Little Baddow, Danbury & Sandon

Danbury - Bob Shepherd

For thirty-three years he worked in the Metropolitan Police, rising to the rank of Chief Superintendent serving both in the East and West Ends of London and at New Scotland Yard.

In 1987 Bob was awarded the MBE by Her Majesty The Queen for services to the community. He is a Foundation Governor of King Edward VI School, a Trustee of the Alms Houses in Chelmsford, a Trustee of the Citizens Advice Bureau and a member of Relate.

For many years he was a member of the Rotary Club of Leytonstone, serving in the offices of Secretary, Treasurer and President and is currently an Honorary Member of that Club. He was the Clerk to Little Baddow Parish Council for ten years and for some years the Chairman of the Conservation Society. He is also a member of Little Baddow Parish Council.

Since being elected to Chelmsford Borough Council in 2004 Bob has served on the Licensing and Regulatory Committee as well as being Vice Chairman of the Local Development Committee and Vice Chairman of the Overview and Scrutiny Committee.

In his spare time Bob enjoys long distance walking, cycling, reading and sailing. He takes a keen interest in the life of all three villages in the ward and endeavours to attend as many local functions as he can.

In the Community Bob is supported by his wife, also a committed volunteer to the Parish.
