Conservative Councillor for Broomfield and the Walthams Ward
Sandra has lived with her family in the village of Broomfield for the past twenty years. She has two sons, one of whom attended the local Grammar School. She retired early, having had a varied career in the Royal Air Force, in Local Government, and for a brief period as a proof reader for a local newspaper. A very enjoyable time followed, working as a Nursery School Teacher with pre-school children, and latterly with the NHS at Broomfield Hospital in the Department of Haematology.
Sandra has been an active campaigner for some years, working for the local community to resolve issues including parking in residential areas, installing low level wooden fencing opposite The Windmills at Broomfield Hospital, road safety signage on Hospital Approach, a new road surface in Court Road, regular street cleaning and other improvements to the visual amenity of Broomfield and The Walthams.
Her interests include music, reading, poetry, social history, and walking in the surrounding countryside. She is thankful for the support shown in the local elections in May and is most willing to give of her time in representing the people of Broomfield and The Walthams as one of your Borough Councillors, working hard on local issues that affect us all in our daily lives.
